Tammy Renaud, MA,
OTR, is founder and AAT Director
for Jumpstart Therapies. She is an occupational therapist
and also holds a Master's degree in psychology. Tammy
has more than 15 years of experience in AAT working with
a variety of animals, to include dogs, cats, rabbits,
horses, guinea pigs, chinchillas, hedgehogs, prairie dogs,
and marine animals. Tammy was the State Coordinator for
the Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network, where she had
the opportunity to rehabilitate sick and injured dolphins
and whales. She also worked closely with the Full Circle
Program in Clearwater, FL and their marine animal assisted
therapy program.
Currently, Tammy is practicing as an occupational therapist with a skilled nursing facility and a pediatric outpatient clinic. She is in the process of developing AAT programs in both of these facilities. Tammy is also providing consultation to other programs in the US and internationally. She recently was a guest speaker for Fundacion Bocalan (www.fundacionbocalan.org) in Barcelona, Spain for their 12 week course on the use of animals in therapy. She has also been invited to speak in Lisbon, Portugal and Santiago, Chile. Tammy continues to be active in Delta Society's Pet Partners program (www.deltasociety.org) and is a Pet Partners Team Instructor and Evaluator.
