"Chief" is a 2 1/2 year old Golden Retriever/Saluki mix adopted by Jumpstart Therapies from Golden Beginnings Golden Retriever Rescue out of Houston, TX. (www.gbgrr.org)

The primary goal for Chief is to prepare him for work at a pediatric facility. Chief has the temperament and energy to work wondefully with children, and his former owners say he loves kids!

Jumpstart Therapies is in the process of developing an AAT program with a pediatric facility in Killeen, TX. (www.kidztherapeze.com) This facility works primarily with military families from Ft. Hood in Killeen, although they also treat children outside of the military. Approximately 40% of the pediatric population at this faciility are children with sensory processing difficulties or Autism. Our goal for Chief is to incorporate him into sensory and motor groups with these populations. Chief will be trained to also work with children with varying degrees of developmental delay. We envision Chief playing a very integral role in the future treatment sessions in this clinic.
